All you need to remember is that as long as you start out doing just a little and then stopping and then doing a little more the next day, you will be able to gradually build up the amount you do until it becomes really worthwhile and fun!

There are several easy exercises to lose weight that most people can make use of. It really is a case of getting up off of the easy chair and getting into some suitable clothes, then getting out of the house and into the fresh air! Lean meat, poultry and fish (if you are not vegetarian) are preferable to fatty meats such as cheap pork or lamb cuts and cut out fried foods like bacon, gammon, pork chops, sausages, burgers etc and replace them with grilled trout (or other fish), stir fried chicken breast strips or good quality, lean steak done in olive oil etc.

Include an exercise program even if it is only half an hour or so of light exercise each day. This is preferable to none at all and it doesn’t need you to spend hours in a gym working out. You can do simple things like going for a brisk walk, or going for a swim. Try rope skipping or learning some high energy dance routines.

Replace all this stuff with real food like fresh vegetables (not frozen or canned), meats and fish (if you’re not vegetarian) and fresh fruits.

If your first thought upon seeing that tip is “…but I can’t cook!” then isn’t now about the right time to start learning how? You’ll be amazed at what you can rustle up in the kitchen and even more amazed at how much your grocery bill is reduced by!

Rethink What You Drink

If you drink soda (even diet soda), fruit juice cordials (those you add water to) or sports drinks etc, then ditch them all. If you are serious about losing weight, these drinks are a minefield of added calories or additives that make you hungry. Instead, get used to drinking plain water and lots of it. Drinking water is a great way to trick your body into thinking its not hungry and it aids digestion meaning you store less fat from the food you eat.

Beer and other alcoholic beverages are also on the endangered list here, although you can limit yourself to one here and there if you really must. The exception here is red wine, which is okay if you limit yourself to one glass a day. Alcohol lowers your resistance to the temptation to eat high calorie snacks, so avoid it if you can.

How often do you hear it said that you need to exercise if you want to lose weight? Well if you’re not doing any, then you’re not hearing it enough! You really must get your body moving to boost your metabolism and get those muscles working to burn more of those calories.
